Will the rain ever stop today? Not leaving my office until it does, or hometime comes. Which ever occurs first!!

Film Review
History and politics are not my strong areas of knowledge. So this film wouldn't be a good first choice for me, but decided to brave it! (the fact that two of my favourite hollywood greats were in it did not sway my decision at all!!)
Tom Hanks' performance was excellent. If I am honest I think that Julia Roberts part was too small for someone of her status. The film was a little over glamourous in some parts, but portrayed very good reality of the Middle East in others.
I would recomend anyone to see it, but it is a film that makes you think. Its not an 'easy' watch!

Books
Something I found online earlier.
'Harry Potter is the most popular book. The Bible is the second most popular book. At least among college students, Harry Potter is, like the Beatles, indeed bigger than Jesus.'
Virgil Griffith (books that make you dumb)
Sad but true that most young (and old) people today know more about Harry Potter than Jesus.

Big Brother Winner
Ok, I am not afraid to admit it, I love Big Brother. The main show is one of the highlights of my summer. This months Celebrity Hijack was especially good. The new format was a success. For more info read the website. (saves me explaining!!) The result of John winning was a shock for me, but I was pleased for him. He is what I would call the underdog. He said himself that he felt on the outside of everyone during his time there. As all of the housemates had a specific talent, his of politics was not so obvious. Being rather large, Scottish and ginger meant that he had tougher competition from the more handsome male housemates. (and can I just say before I get negative comments I myself am ginger, with Scottish family and I had a long term boyfriend who is a mini-me of this guy!) Our nation voted for the non obvious favourite and that made me proud!

Being Shown Otherwise
I trotted in to London yesterday to see some friends. On the way I prayed for opportunities to be able to witness to my non-christian friends if the chance arose. My old n-c work friends still find my job change odd, but I use each conversation about it for God's glory. It was only when I went from one social appointment to another that I saw God was using me in a place I wouldn't think. I met up with a Christian friend and we had some really good conversations. They were going through an odd time, but I wouldn't have thought that in my 'tube journey' prayers that God would use me in the place I least expected. It made me chuckle that when we concentrate and pray for person 1 and 2, God will show us that person 3 needs us too!

Overdue Task
Finally I got round to changing my driving licence because of the address. (Its only been three and a half years since I moved out of home!) It was the photo that was the decider. If I do (insultingly) get ID-ed these days, generally the doormen look at me, look at my ID, look at me again. It gets embarrassing! The photo does not look like me anymore. So before I sent away my old licence for good I took a photo to remember what I looked like when I first passed my driving test!!!

Seeing A Parallel
I'm currently going through some separate issues with a couple of friends. This morning I really felt God talking to me about it, but not in a 'solution and guidance' kind of way, but in a 'how we treat God' kind of way. One of my best friends (who won't ever read this!) is being really rubbish with constantly putting other people before me, cancelling on me for better things, turning up late to our appointments etc etc, i wont rant on! But it started to make me think about how we treat God. We put him behind seeing friends, shopping, watching our favourite tv shows, sleeping etc etc.
Active Thinking
Our usual Monday morning worship, prayer, talk was shaken up today. It was taken over and made a lot more creative. It gave us something to really focus on and I got a lot out of it, with the theme of God's faithfulness.
We looked at parts of Isaiah 49 and had the option of writing on our own hand in permanent marker. The word I wrote is very relevant to 'that thing/subject' that I have constantly on my heart.

16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands - Isaiah 49.

Stupid Annoyance!
So men mock us all the time for 'breaking a nail'! But for the first time in forever I had long unbroken nails. Until I broke one leaving work.....so I took a photo to prove they were long for once in my life! They're now back to the usual short and painted dark! :-(

Film Review
The trailor for this film appealed to me and i did want to see it. It was very 'how an american family should be' kind of film. It was a bit feel good. I have only seen Steve Carell in the US version of The Office. It was a bit predictable in place, but i liked it!

Tube Journey Thoughts
I met up with what can only be described as a 'multitude' of MLS people last night. Because I don't get into town as much these days I squeezed in seeing lots of people. I saw 4 different lots of old work friends. Things haven't changed at the company and whenever I hear all of the moans and groans I still stand confident in my decision of leaving back in August. I really miss the people, the locations and the tight network we worked in. But I do come home happy with my change of job!

Film Review
Tonight was the turn of St Trinian's. I know its had mixed reviews, but I liked it. It made me laugh out loud in lots of places, which I didnt expect of it. Having not seen the original stuff I have nothing to compare it to. But I think the phrase is pleasently surprised! I am slightly biased as it does feature Colin Firth, and they do make him wear a wet white shirt and also there is some no clothes in parts too! But obviously tastefully and within age classification! But go and see it, its a must!!
Cash Crisis
My change of job was a big step out of my comfort zone. I was warned of tight financial situations. But now that 'potential thing' on the horizon has got very close. Its very tough in our human state to not worry about things and take control. I am the kind of person who has to know how things work and where things come from. However this morning I think I let things finally go to God. As a Christian trusting in God can often be tough. But the words of this song really spoke to me. Sometimes songs we know inside out and back to front can speak to us in situations in a new and fresh way.
Forever God is faithful
Forever God is strong
Forever God is with us
Forever, Forever.

Film Review
This film was not as sickly sweet as I thought it would be. It was easy to follow and had some lovely male eye candy!! It was a nice storyline, but very sad. It was good to see Hilary Swank in a romcom role.

Film Review
Tonight I saw 'I Am Legend'. It was interesting. I have seen better films, but the story (as far as I know) was original. The effects of a destroyed New York were brilliant. Will Smith played his character well. I would say go and see it, but if you dont like scary zombie-types, then dont go!
