Blackout

Blackout

As nice as it was to feel part of a community with local friends ringing me to check if I was ok, it made me realise how much we rely on electricity. Everything I was doing was cut short; I had the lights, TV and computer on and was just about to have a bath. I have only really experienced local power cuts during the day. As soon as there was no light the sky seemed so bright, it was really odd. The only light around was from buses and cars passing on the main road. All you could see from houses was the flicker of candles. Everything just seemed a lot more peaceful.
