Inspiring Words

Today I was reading in the bible around Elijah's events at Mount Carmel. I found the story very inspiring and it made me think about how much we trust God and stand up against what we know is wrong.

My notes concluded with a quote that I wanted to share: 'in prayer we wait in the power of God for the evil to dissipate and the good to rise up. By prayer we receive spiritual enabling to overcome the egoism that drives us so relentlessly. Through prayer we develop the longing, the yearning to sink down deeper into the things of God.
